Paver Patio Planner: Layers, Materials and Shopping List

Enter a finished patio footprint once, keep the finished level separate from the existing ground, and follow the resulting layer, procurement, removal and quote rows without mixing their bases.

One input set, separate estimating jobs

This no-login planner runs locally in the browser. You can save one draft only in the same browser and browser profile; it does not sync across devices or private sessions, create a permanent reopen link, or put your title, optional reference or dimensions in the URL. The public page always has this canonical address.

This MVP has no server-backed draft, public sharing or access-controlled private link. A later server feature would need real storage, authorization, expiry/revocation and an explicit opt-in with unguessable IDs; noindex alone would not protect a draft.

Use the same local datum for existing ground and target finished level. The planner calculates excavation depth from the layer stack relative to that level change. It keeps compacted installed base, loose delivered base, bank excavation, loose soil spoil, purchased pavers, and polymeric-sand bags as separate quantities. Supplier increments and bag sizes round only the ordered quantity.

Updating quantities

Quick estimate

Start with the footprint, shared local datum, and installed layer assumptions. The defaults already include standard material and ordering assumptions.

Use any consistent local datum, not an address or elevation reference.

The finished paver surface on that same datum.

Installed compacted thickness, not loose delivery volume.

Material and ordering assumptions

Replace the default supplier, paver, and sand assumptions when you have product-specific information.

Optional inputs not included: Custom paver geometry, Supplier increments, Sand packaging, Ordering allowances.

Hauling adjustments

Add separate known loose removal streams without mixing them into soil hauling.

Optional inputs not included: Concrete rubble and asphalt hauling.

Supplier base override

Use only when a supplier requires a different loose base quantity. The calculated quantity and your reason remain visible.

Optional inputs not included: Manual supplier-base order.

Local quotes and itemized cost

Leave a rate blank to keep that required row not priced. Enter 0 only for an explicitly free quoted line.

Optional inputs not included: Local supplier quotes.

Project details and private output

Draft details, saved values, and PDFs stay in this browser. Nothing here creates a public link or sends dimensions in the URL.

Optional inputs not included: Project metadata, Browser-local save controls, Private PDF export.

Shopping list: net, order, and pack

Order quantities preserve their physical basis. Supplier increment and bag rounding happen after full-precision need.

Itemized cost estimate

Only entered quotes are summed. A blank rate remains not priced, never zero.

Limits and field checks

This is a quantity workflow, not a patio design or construction specification. It does not select subgrade treatment, drainage, edge restraint, paver pattern, joint depth, base gradation, structural thickness, frost protection, access, utilities, boundaries, permits, or installation method. Confirm levels, slopes, removal conditions, product instructions, compatible joint-sand coverage, supplier order basis and written scope before ordering or building.

Do not merge soil, concrete rubble and asphalt into one disposal figure: disposal providers can price and accept those streams differently. A manual supplier-base override needs a reason so the calculated need remains auditable. Blank rates deliberately stay not priced; an entered zero is the only free price.
