Plywood / OSB sheet estimate
Actual panel dimensions drive the calculation. Nominal size stays visible as a product label only.
| Theoretical sheet equivalent | 4.8 sheets |
|---|---|
| Ordered whole sheets | 5 |
Current partial result
Order 5 whole sheets.
- Gross / opening area
- 15 / 0 m²
- Net area
- 15 m²
- Area-equivalent sheets
- 4.8
- After allowance
- 4.8 sheets
- This is an area-based estimate, not a cutting optimization or panel layout.
- Actual sheet dimensions determine the calculation. Nominal dimensions are shown only as the supplied product label.
- Opening deductions assume the entered openings are valid and non-overlapping; no offcut reuse is claimed.

How it works and assumptions
Before ordering, read Why Sheet Area and Plywood Layout Give Different Counts for actual-size, orientation, opening and offcut measurements.
Choose an area estimate when you need a purchasing lower-bound from net area. It deducts entered openings and compares that net area with the actual, not nominal, panel area. It deliberately does not draw a layout or claim that offcuts can be reused.
Choose a simple rectangular grid when panel positions matter. It rounds panel rows and columns upward, treats openings as cutouts rather than sheet savings, and can compare a rotated panel only if your required strength-axis orientation permits it.
This quantity tool does not select a panel grade, span, fastening pattern, structural rating, expansion-gap requirement, or installation method. Confirm those items and product dimensions with the project documents and panel manufacturer before ordering.
