Fence Materials Calculator
Turn measured fence runs, corners, and gates into a transparent material list. It counts shared corner posts once and keeps installed, spare, and ordered materials separate.

Fence material estimate
Start with one uninterrupted straight run, or explicitly switch to topology for corners and gates.
| Run | From | To | Type | Length | Bays | Clear bay width |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Straight run | simple-start | simple-end | fence | 32.81 ft | 5 | 6.56 ft |

- Clear bay width is the usable panel or picket width. It is not post-centre spacing.
- Post-centre spacing is not reported until an actual post face width is supplied.
- Gate edges contribute endpoint posts and gate hardware, but no bays, panels, rails, or pickets.
- Fence topology is a material-counting model, not a structural plan.

| Fence posts | 6 count | 6 count |
| Fence panels | 5 count | 5 count |
| Fence pickets | 0 count | 0 count |
| Fence rails | 10 count | 10 count |

How it works and assumptions
Enter each uninterrupted fence run and each gate as a separate edge. Runs are divided into bays no wider than the maximum clear bay width you enter. Shared endpoint IDs represent one physical post, so corners and gates do not create duplicate posts.
Select panel mode for one panel per bay, or picket mode for full-width coverage. Confirm all panel dimensions, post faces, spacing, hardware, and local installation requirements against the selected fence system. This estimator is not a structural plan or a fence-design recommendation.
